Star Tuckpointing is a family-owned masonry restoration company serving Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. We repair the brick, mortar and water-entry problems that wear down local buildings — and we explain the work clearly before it begins.
Family story
A family business built one weekend at a time.
Star Tuckpointing began with weekend projects and a father who wanted to build something of his own. After several years working for a masonry company, Ziggy Kleszcz began taking on his own projects on Saturdays and Sundays. He brought his sons, Peter and Voytek, with him. They helped on the job and took care of customer calls, scheduling, estimates and the other business details that kept each project moving.
In 1992, Ziggy, Peter and Voytek founded Star Tuckpointing together. What started with one family working weekends grew into a company serving Chicago and nearby suburbs. All three remain closely involved in the business today.
The company has grown, but the standard set on those early projects has not changed: diagnose the cause, explain the repair and stand behind the work. That growth has come primarily through client referrals and repeat business, earned through honest assessments, careful jobsite safety and craftsmanship designed for Chicago's demanding freeze-thaw cycles.
